ZambianMusic.Net notes that Zambian musician Fern Gee (Fernando Yakobo) was born to Mr. and Mrs.Fernando Yakobo in Chingola, and moved to Ndola two years later. He started performance and rap while in secondary school, (Chingola High School).In 2009, he got together with a couple of his friends and formed a group called the Gees Collabo (Gee’s Collaboration Squad). They had a few performances as a group and split in years later.

His influences are Meek Mill, Twista, 2pac , Common, Cassper Nyovest , Kanye West, Ludacris, Busta Rhymes,Sarkodie. Chef 187 and Eddie Black who are his close friends as well have also influenced his music. In 2012, ‘Extraordinary’ his debut single hit the waves in Kopala and it gradually made him known in and around Copperbelt. His single ‘WAMONA-TE’ has been on radio station charts in Zambia, Namibia and Nigeria. It has been on.Commet Fm, Rhythm Fm Top 7 chart, Radio phoenix, ,also his recent follow up single. “LEKA MBALANGE”has been NO 1 on radio charts round the country. He has had collaborations with Eddie Black, Chef 187,Coziem ,Crown Prince ,Starn The Industry , Shady Star Face , Drigo the LG (Lyrical Genuis) amongst others.
