If you love Dancehall music, or if you are that kind of person of goes out to party, you must have heard or danced to that "She Ah Bomb" hit song. Ofcorse you have. Well stop doubting, its a song sung by our very own DJ Cosmo. DJ Cosmo also called Umupilipili (real name Cosmas Chileshe) a former radio presenter and Club DJ is a Zambian musician, songwriter  who was born on the 23rd of December in Kitwe as third child in a family of six. His Already established himself as a successful club DJ and radio presenter; he started his career as a musician in 2008, inspired by his best friend Kayombo (one of Zambia’s Dancehall heavy weights).In 2008, DJ Cosmo recorded his first hit single “Nalelo Bwacha” featuring Kayombo. The video for the song was played all over Zambia and was nominated for Zambia`s biggest Music Awards, Called the “Born and Bread Awards”. After a successful year in 2008, He also had the opportunity to collaborate with the British Pop artist Kris Coulthard in 2009. Their hit single “Fly” is a mixture of Pop and Dancehall done in English with a splash of (Nyanja) a Zambian language, the unique fusion between Pop and Afro-Dancehall, also granted the video a nomination in the “Born and Bread Awards” in 2010.The DJ started collaborating with several Top Zambian Artists such as Exile, Hamoba, Franciar, Baska and JK.

His Well-known for his energetic performances live on stage, as his already performed all over Zambia when he toured the whole country in 2010 and his also toured Malawi and shared the stage with Malawi’s Lucious Banda in 2011. His also performed in South Africa alongside Zambian Dancehall Veteran (Danny) in the same year. Later on in 2011 he went on tour to the European country of Austria, which is his wife’s country of birth and this added to his international exposure. He then collaborated with some Austrian artists and shot his video “Kwacha” there, which got massive air play from the local TV channels in Zambia. He then yet again got nominated for the “Born and Bread Awards” for his hit single “Koko Ndodo’s” where the Video features Franciar, a Zambian female rapper.

In the year 2012 he collaborated with JK on the single “Unani tenga mtima”, and he also tied the knot with his Austrian Queen. Due to the success of “Koko Ndodo” he did the remix in 2013 featuring All Stars Line up of not only Franciar but Petersen, Kayombo, T-Sean, Flexville Marley and Kapepa. This turned out to be as successful as and greater than the original version, as DjCosmo brook boundaries by getting air play all over Zambia and on international scenes as well. The Year 2013 also marked the release of DJ Cosmo Umupilipili’s highly anticipated debut album titled “Point of No Return,” which sold 8000 copies in its first month. The response was overwhelming in Zambia and in Austria, where he went back again to promote the album. After the success of “Point of No Return,” he changed his song writing style to attract an international audience by writing more songs in English, but still remaining faithful to his roots by recording Dancehall hits and he came up with the very successful single “Sexy Panty” Featuring African King of Dancehall Buffalo Souljah (real name Thabani Ndlovu). They shot the video in South Africa and it did very well on Channel O, Trace and MTV Base which has boosted his career tremendously.

With the overwhelming response to “Sexy Panty” DJ Cosmo got invited to perform at the Africa Movie Academy Awards nomination party held in Johannesburg, South Africa at the Caesar`s Palace in the year 2014, Where he shared the stage with Nigerian Artist K-Cee, this gave him much more exposure to international audiences viewing the event and lead to another invitation that saw him perform at the Namibian Music Awards 2014. ZambianMusic.Net beleives that DJ Cosmo's chart topping smash hit single for 2015 titled “She Aah Bomb” featuring Kayombo put him in the first position hence many Zambians refering to him as the King of Dancehall in Zambia.
