No One Should Work On 7th July 2021, Says Edgar Lungu

Zambia’s President – Edgar Lungu has declared Wednesday 7th July 2021 a public holiday - designating the day as a national mourning day for the late Kenneth Kaunda (Zambia’s first President) who died on 17th June 2021.

President Edgar Lungu has used powers given to him under the Public Holidays act to declare tomorrow 7th July 2021 a public holiday to enable the countrymen and women mourn their very first President.

“I would like to inform the people of this great nation Zambia that, 7th July 2021 shall be a “No Work” day. I call upon everyone in Zambia to respect this day as we send off one of Africa’s fallen freedom fghters” – said President Edgar Lungu.

It is confirmed that, Kenneth Kaunda will be buried on the 7th of July 2021.
