Zambian Top Dancehall Artist Tsean

As Zambian music continues to cross borders, so many fans of dancehall music in Zambia are still conjecturing if it’s true that the latest all star Trouble Riddim track was manufactured by a Zambian musician.

The first of its kind in Zambia, a one-rhythm riddim was originally released yesterday on 31st March 2017 as a sort of answer to dancehall music in Southern Africa. Produced Thee High Grade and mastered by the talented TSean aka Baila International also referred to as the Dancehall Daddy, Trouble Riddim features DJ Cosmo, Badman Shapi, Milz The Teacher, Trevor Boganz, Yellowman and little known Sam Kuli.

Each of the artists took their turn creating new melodies and approaches over it hence giving every dancehall fan an option to dance to their favourite.

The Trouble Riddim itself is simple and funky. It may be a little maddening when heard over and over again, but this set gets it right by keeping things short and sweet, exiting before the riddim can burn itself out.

Tsean, the man behind this idea fundamentally understood the importance of not overdoing things in these kinds of collections, a lesson unfortunately often unheeded by subsequent one-rhythm anthologies, which can include too many versions to keep the rhythm sounding fresh and vital.
