KABWE – Word reaching ZambianMusic.net has it that, Zambian female singer – Mampi Mukape could stand trial over alleged offences of fraud.
The alleged offences stem from her failure to appear in Kabwe town for a concert dubbed ‘Mampi And The Dancing Queens’ which was slated for September 2nd 2017 at the Tall Trees Bar Main Arena.
The Swilililili hit singer did not turn up for the event and this forced angry fans to obliterate some of the equipments including property that belonged to the event organisers. Fans remained calm till 02:00 when they lost their irritability.
Mampi is therefore wanted over allegations that she induced M/s Tall Trees Bar to enter a concert performance contract where the singer was slated to perform in Kabwe.
If, Mampi fails to sort out this so fast, she could face charges of obtaining money by false pretence, cheating and conspiracy to defraud. Tall Trees Bar Kabwe in the letter to its lawyers has asked issuance of a red notice against the accused person.
Through its lawyers, it is alleged that between August 1st, 2017 and August 31st 2017, Tall Trees Bar paid Mampi 50% down payment as deposit and commitment fee for her to perform on September 2nd 2017.
It is alleged that the misconduct by the suspects has not only damaged the name and reputation of Tall Trees Bar but it has also defrauded music-loving Zambian of entertainment value.
